I explore the process of becoming a professional human. In my book A warrior’s rest (Obelixboeken, 2024) I sense my way through my disappointment when encountering the malfunctioning of professional systems and authorities within my practice at meneerdeleeuw.nl. I developed a phenomenological mode of inquiry. Taking notice of my fears and longings I observe my interventions in societal fields such as biodiversity regeneration, youth protection, animal free research. I refrain from using societal change theories or organizational theories to frame my thoughts to discover the unruly reality in which I want to serve the public good. Sailing at night or during the day is a world of difference. I am currently developing Navigating Dark Waters journeys on the two-masted sailing boat the May Flower to help professionals develop their capacity to face the uncertain times we are living in. Our mission is to help social organizations make the most of the coming years. Our goal is to set sail six times a year with leaders and teams from different societal sectors.
