My fieldwork as an ethnobotanist in rural Zambia has informed my inquiry on the Research Fellowship track. I write to explore the experience of remembering as a living bridge weaving threads of connection across divides of time, culture, and ways of knowing. I draw attention to remembering as an experience in and of the present moment, asking what is lost as the researcher moves from fieldwork to findings, as experiencing is replaced with reporting, and what can the gap between fieldwork and findings afford the researcher? In crafting my reflexive narrative, my mode of inquiry is barefoot wayfaring, moving on a journey with creative responsiveness, creating a new path along the way.
