I'm involved in research in action in the field of community economies, and am involved in housing, energy, food and fibre initiatives. I work for Wessex Community Assets and Dorset Community Energy and have a particular interest in place-based, bioregional approaches. My PhD research explored the challenge of building and retrofitting affordable housing while using sustainable, bio-based materials. I drew on the work of J.K. Gibson-Graham, Tim Ingold and Merleau-Ponty. I was co-lead of Schumacher College's MA in Economic for Transition for a number of years.
